Bruce first came to CrossPoint as a college student and helped in the Spanish ministry. He grew up in Mexico, where his parents still serve as missionaries. While in college, he met his wife Charise, a “pastor’s kid” with her own passion for teaching children. After nine years on CrossPoint’s staff, Bruce and Charise went to Mexico themselves, where they worked for six years as missionaries before returning to CrossPoint. They are still a little surprised (and absolutely delighted) to be back in Huntington Beach!
Bruce and Charise were married in 1992 and have two sons, Ryan and Evan.
Bruce earned a graduate degree in Bible and theology from Talbot School of Theology, where he is currently in a doctoral program designed for pastors.
His primary ministry at CrossPoint is teaching the Bible, which he absolutely loves. He has seen how God’s truth changes people’s lives from the inside out as people connect to God and each other, so he wants to share not only the good news of God, but also his own life (1 Thessalonians 2:8).
Bruce loves to hear and tell stories, and will read anything he can get his hands on, so the invention of the Kindle pretty much changed his life. He is also a lifetime Dallas Cowboys fan, which he considers good for his character.
